The legend of the Fist is more than just a landmark; it’s an emblem of struggle, transformation, and triumph, much like the journey of Alin Panaite and the warriors he has forged from the fires of his discipline.
Alin Panaite, the renowned coach of famous K1 athletes such as Ionuț Atodiresei, the Stoica Brothers and Benny Adegbuyi, began his journey in the world of competitive sports in the Jiu Valley, specifically in Aninoasa, his birthplace.
His path took him to Greece, where he lived from 1992 to 1999.
„It was very hard being alone in a foreign country, but I was determined to train at the oldest martial arts gym in Greece. I worked a lot in construction to support myself,” he recalls. In 1996, everything changed when he became the Greek champion. This achievement opened new doors for him, and soon he was asked to provide bodyguard services for wealthy Greek businessmen.”
Alin worked as a bodyguard for several years before returning to Romania, where he decided to open his own gym. During this time, he also spent some time working in Italy. Alin’s story is a testament to perseverance and the pursuit of excellence. His journey from the small town of Aninoasa to becoming a key figure in the world of K1 and global boxing is part of a larger narrative—one that intertwines with the ancient legends of the Titans carved into the stone of the Jiu Valley.

The tourist attractions 👊 are located at the exit from Vulcan, at the entrance to Paroșeni (before the first blocks), where you take a left turn, and from there it’s about 3 km on an asphalted road. Before the last curve leading to the dam, somewhere on the right, you descend to the river, cross it, and through the meadow near the waterfall, you reach the cave. According to our estimates, the cave is about 300-400 meters long and can be easily traversed. „Pumnul Dracului” (The Devil’s Fist), „Străjerii” (The Guardians), the Waterfall, as well as the THRONE in the last room of the cave, are truly impressive and have the potential to become the main tourist attractions in the Hyperborean Valley.
